What is Acupuncture?
Traditional Acupuncture originates in China and has been practiced for over 3000 years. It’s principle theory is that health is governed by the flow of energy, or Qi (pronounced “Chee”). When we are unwell or injured, the flow of Qi has been disrupted and needs to be restored. This can be done by inserting fine needles into specific points on the body.
You will probably have heard of Yin and Yang; these are your bodies energies that acupuncture helps to balance.
In Western terms they had all the same illnesses as us ,they just called then differnet names. The concept of Qi and Blood probably relates to nerve pathways and blood vessel pathways.
I try to integrate east and west and quantify the Chinese medicine view into current western medical terms.
